Fees & Rebates

You are welcome to see our Psychologists without a Mental Health Care Plan. In that case, fees will be charged at the full amount with NO Medicare rebate claimable.

MEDICARE REFERRALS

If you choose to obtain an MHCP (Mental Health Care Plan) from your GP or Psychiatrist, then Medicare rebates apply for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. You may also be eligible for a CDM (Chronic Disease Management) – formerly EPC which would provide a reduced rebate on a further 5 sessions per year. Some Paediatrician Referrals may allow for up to 20 rebatable sessions under the HCWA (Helping Children with Autism Scheme).   These 20 sessions are for life, and can help to extend visits if the Medicare sessions are used up in a calendar year.

NB: Fees are payable in full at the time of consultation, then Medicare rebates can be processed at the centre.

On occasion, and at the Psychologist’s discretion, fees may be negotiated or sessions bulk billed depending on the circumstances. Ie: Disability Pension.

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE

If you choose not to obtain a MHCP, and you have private health insurance, you may be reimbursed by your insurer, depending on your level of cover. It is advisable to contact your insurance provider to determine your level of coverage in advance.

Note: We do not have a Hicaps facility at the centre for private health insurance rebates.
